The game in 100 words (or less): Orlando City SC earned its first win at the Citrus Bowl after an emphatic 4-0 dismantling of the defending MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy. Everything was coming up Orlando today as the league’s newest club dominated from the opening kick, jumping out to a 2-0 halftime lead. Kaka was on another level, as the 2002 World Cup champion showed why he is the highest paid player in Major League Soccer. The speed of Brek Shea and vision of Kaka tore apart Los Angeles, as the Galaxy’s poor start to the season continues.

Three moments that mattered
12′ — Eric Avila opens the scoring for Orlando — Orlando City looked dangerous in the opening minutes of the match and got rewarded when Eric Avila put the hosts ahead. Rafael Ramos crossed in to Brek Shea at the back post, who headed back across the box to Avila. Avila then used his own head to beat Jaime Penedo in front of the home support.
34′ — Kaka feeds Larin to make it 2-0 — Rookie Cyle Larin scored his fourth goal of the season on a feed from the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year. Larin and Kaka rushed in on the attack, with Kaka making a slick cut to beat his defender before slotting it across to a wide-open Larin.
56′ — Kaka converts from the spot — Kaka moved in on goal, chipping over Jaime Penedo before being taken down by the Galaxy goalkeeper. The Brazilian stepped up to the spot and finished the job himself, converting his penalty to give Orlando a 3-0 lead and all three points.
Man of the match: Kaka — The former world player of the year was the best player on the pitch and it wasn’t even close. At 33, Kaka has poise on the ball and vision that hasn’t been seen in MLS before, as he made the Galaxy look like schoolboys today.
