WATCH: Krisztian Nemeth’s header puts Sporting KC ahead of FC Dallas, 1-0, at the half

Sporting KC have the start they wanted against the Western Conference’s second-place team FC Dallas.

The Toros won the possession battle (52.7 percent) in the first 45 minutes but have failed to get a shot on target while Sporting has two strikes on frame, counting this one. Two minutes before the half, Dallas defender Zach Loyd was sent off due to his second yellow card.

In the 19th minute, forward Krisztian Nemeth hit a header from close range–assisted by Kevin Ellis and Graham Zusi–for his sixth goal of the season. The Hungarian has proved his worth for Peter Vermes’ squad as of late, especially against the New England Revolution in a 4-2 victory.
