In case you missed it, on Tuesday the U.S. U-20 side beat hosts New Zealand 4-0 to seal their place in the last 16 of the competition for the first time since 2007. Rubio Rubin and Gedion Zelalem stole the show for the USA as Tab Ramos’ men need a point against Ukraine in their final Group A game on Friday t0 seal top spot.

Below are brief recaps from all four games, as the tournament is in full-flow.

Qatar 0-4 Portugal

The Portuguese have cruised through Group C with two wins from two and they’ve yet to concede a goal. Strikes from Silva, Ivo (2) and Vigario did the damage gainst Qatar, as Portugal joins the USA in the last 16.

Senegal 1-1 Colombia

Two goals in the first half of this nervy encounter shared the spoils, as Colombia look more likely to reach the knockout stages. Senegal took the lead through Mamadou Thiam but Alexis Zapata scored a penalty just before half time to even things up. Senegal must now beat Qatar in their final Group C game and hope Colombia suffer a heavy defeat to Portugal.

Mexico 2-1 Uruguay

My word, Group D is incredibly tight. All three teams sit on three points each going into the final group game, with Kevin Gutierrez’s last minute free kick handing Mexico a massive 2-1 win over Uruguay. Hirving Lozano had given El Tri the lead but Uruguay equalized in the 83rd minute through Mathias Suarez before the late drama arrived. All to play for.

Serbia 2-0 Mali

A goal in each half from Sergej Millinkovic-Savic and Stanisa Mandic sealed victory for the Serbian national team as they now face Mexico in their final Group D game sitting top of the table with a +1 goal differential.
