VIDEO: A year ago today, John Brooks headed home as US beat Ghana in Natal


Do you remember where you were when John Brook’s 86th minute winner against Ghana hit the back of the net?

Of course you do. It’s like asking a Liverpool fan where they were when they won the UEFA Champions League in 2006 or a Frenchman after they won the World Cup in 1998.

Brooks’ powerful header from Graham Zusi’s outswinging corner is one of those moments most U.S. Soccer fans will never forget as the German-American center back became an unlikely hero and delivered a victory for Jurgen Klinsmann’s men in their 2014 World Cup Group G opener against Ghana in Natal, Brazil.
