Sergio Ramos has been linked with a move to Manchester United. In a report from Spanish outlet AS, Ramos is reportedly unhappy that Real recently refused to deny a link between him and a candidate to take over as Barcelona’s new president. Seriously.

Ramos, 29, has an eye-watering $210 million release clause in his current contract at Real which runs out in 2017. United are in desperate need of a top-class center back after the inconsistent form of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans over the past few seasons and Ramos would certainly fit the bill for Louis van Gaal’s side. His pedigree as a leading man for Real and Spain over the past decade is unquestioned and if the Red Devils pounce on Ramos’ stormy situation in the Spanish capital they may well grab a figurehead for their defense. It is also being reported that United have demanded Ramos moves to Old Trafford as part of any deal which would see David de Gea move in the opposite direction this summer. Watch this space.
According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are ready to splash $120 million on three new players. Various reports have claimed that Liverpool have tabled a new bid for Real Madrid’s holding midfielder Asier Illarramendi. Brendan Rodgers is said to have bid $25 million for the 25-year-old and are confident Real will accept the offer as Illarramendi has struggled to hold down a regular spot since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2013. Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, currently on international duty with Colombia at the Copa America, is another target, but he will not come cheap with a price tag of $35 million.
Another option is Zenit St Petersburg forward Salomon Rondon who impressed for Venezuela at the Copa America. Rondon could cost upwards of $20 million but both he and Bacca would be cheaper options than trying to meet Christian Benteke’s release clause of $45 million. Sounds like Liverpool are ready to do some serious spending after so far being frugal in the transfer market.
Finally, new West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic is looking to add to his capture of Pedro Obiang with the Guardian claiming that the Hammers have bid $20 million for Marseille forward Dimitri Payet. The French international forward, 28, is keen to move to the Premier League after Marseille’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming season. The Sun also claims that West Ham are looking to sign Tottenham’s Belgian international midfielder Moussa Dembele for $17 million. The 27-year-old midfielder scored just once in 34 outings for Spurs last season and was often used as a sub by Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea are also said to be interested in Dembele who has spent the last six years in the PL.
