Celtic is on the verge of advancing in the UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 win over visiting Stjarnan in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The Scottish club has a two-goal advantage without conceding at home, as former Man City center back Dedryck Boyata and Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen scored for the Bhoys.

Several UCL group stage contenders may not make it to the next round after disappointing home legs. BATE Borisov gave up an away goal to Dundalk, while Ludogorts Razgard trails 1-0 to Milsami Orhei.

After second legs next week, it’s on to the third qualifying round, and then a playoff round in which Sporting CP, Lazio, Manchester United, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen join the fray.
