A roundup of Premier League teams in preseason action Saturday:

Stuttgart 4-2 Manchester City

Manuel Pellegrini’s Man City suffered a heavy defeat away to Stuttgart after giving up four first-half goals. Filip Kostic, Daniel Didavi and Daniel Ginczek (two) were the goalscorers on the day, as the City defense looked a far cry from the unit that conceded just 38 goals during the 2014-15 Premier League season.

From left to right, City’s starting defense consisted of Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Aleksandar Kolarov. Kelechi Iheanacho (84th minute) and Edin Dzeko (89th) scored late consolation goals for the Blues.

HJK 0-2 Liverpool

Recently arrived Belgian attacker Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho bagged goals for Liverpool as the Reds rolled to a 2-0 victory over Finnish side HJK Helsinki.

Origi hammered home from close range in the 73rd minute after Jordan Ibe and James Milner combined down the right flank and inside the penalty area. Coutinho’s tally came off a short corner kick routine. After dribbling his way into the penalty area, the Brazilian midfielder rifled a shot inside the far post. Brendan Rodgers’ will face League One side Swindon Town on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest 3-3 Aston Villa

Scott Sinclair bagged three goals (22nd, 52nd and 64th minutes) for Aston Villa, but a pair of late Nottingham Forest goals (Henri Lansbury – 81st – and Kelvin Wilson – 90th) to go along with Dexter Blackstock’s 1st minute tally meant the Championship outfit had secured themselves a 3-3 draw with Tim Sherwood’s side.
