According to the Daily Telegraph the Lyon forward, 21, can play through the middle or out wide and the Cameroon international possesses plenty of pace which will give Mauricio Pochettino an added option in attack. With Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado frozen out at White Hart Lane and Spurs’ offense looking lackluster during their opening day defeat at Old Trafford against Manchester United, N’Jie’s arrival would be a welcome one but Tottenham need more than him to mount a serious top four challenge this season. Even though he did last season, Harry Kane can’t do it all on his own.

The London Evening Standard believes Spurs are also in the hunt for two more strikers, as they claim Pochettino is eyeing both Javier Hernandez and Saido Berahino. Hernandez, 27, is out of favor at Manchester United after spending last season on loan at Real Madrid, but the Mexican international was on the bench for United’s season opener against Tottenham. It is said that Spurs would prefer a loan deal for “Chicharito” but United would prefer a permanent deal of around $20 million for the predatory forward.

As for Berahino, Spurs’ interest in the 22-year-old striker has been long reported and after West Bromwich Albion shattered their transfer record to bring in Venezuelan forward Salomon Rondon on Monday from Zenit for $20 million, instant links were made to Berahino leaving the Hawthorns. The youngster seems like the perfect foil for Kane and the duo could partner each other or Kane has the ability to play in the No. 10 role.

In non-Spurs related transfer news (yes, that does exist), Everton is preparing for John Stones’ potential exit to Chelsea this summer. ESPN claim that the Toffees have lined up AC Milan’s central defender Cristian Zapata, 28, to replace Stones. The Colombian international defender has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro and with only Phila Jagielka and Stones as their recognized center backs, Everton desperately needs to strengthen in that area whether or not Stones departs.
