The Daily Telegraph says that Arsene Wenger is mulling over a move for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak. The 25-year-old Polish midfielder has been a long-term target for Arsenal but he will cost around $35 million to pry away from the La Liga outfit.

Krychowiak operates in the holding midfield position, an area in which the Gunners certainly need reinforcements even if the form of Francis Coquelin in the second half of last season suggested otherwise. The reports says Arsenal’s scouts watch Sevilla’s 5-4 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday and Krychowiak has a release clause in his contract of $35 million which the Gunners considered triggering in January. Wenger has spent just $16 million so far this summer with the signing of Petr Cech and they new reinforcements in midfield and attack if they’re going to challenge for the title this season.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was on the bench for Manchester United during their opening day win over Tottenham Hotspur, but the Mexican international striker is all over the gossip columns. “Chicharito” spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and doesn’t appear to have a future at Old Trafford. On Tuesday the rumors were linking the 27-year-old with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but now the Daily Mirror says that the predatory forward could be heading to Torino on loan. The Serie A side sold Matteo Darmian to United earlier this summer, and after finishing ninth in Italy’s top-flight last season they have big ambitions to qualify for Europe this year.

Everton is said to be closing in on a move for Barnsley youngster Mason Holgate. According to BBC Radio Sheffield the 18-year-old defender is having a medical with the Toffees as Roberto Martinez looks to bolster his defensive options. Bournemouth, Manchester United and Newcastle were all said to be interested in Holgate this summer. As of right now Everton only possess two center backs with Phil Jagielka and John Stones wrapped in cotton wool, so this move makes sense. Stones, 21, has been heavily linked with a $45 million move to Chelsea and he too arrived at Goodison Park from Barnsley in 2013 for a small fee. Has Martinez unearthed another gem from Oakwell?
Finally, the Daily Mail says that Aston Villa is closing in on a $19 million move for Barcelona winger Adama Traore. The 19-year-old has already made his debut for Barca but has spent most of his Nou Camp career so far in the reserves. Stoke City and Liverpool have previously been linked with the powerful attacker, but it seems like Tim Sherwood’s summer of heavy spending is set to continue with Traore highly rated and fitting into Villa’s transfer policy of signing youngsters.
