The main team everyone is keeping an eye on is Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United. The Red Devils qualified for this round courtesy of their fourth place finish in the Premier League last season, but Van Gaal has admitted he and his side are feeling the pressure ahead of their first leg tie against Club Brugge at Old Trafford. United will be looking to take a healthy lead with them for the return leg in Belgium next week.

Elsewhere, some other big clashes see former finalists Valencia and AS Monaco squaring off for a place in the Champions League, while Scottish champions Celtic have a tricky test against Malmo. Other ties which could produce fireworks include Sporting Lisbon vs. CSKA Moscow, plus Lazio do battle with Bayer Leverkusen as UCL hopes are on the line for plenty of European giants.
