Mario Balotelli has passed his medical and back at AC Milan on loan, where he plans to show a newfound maturity in earning his keep.
Perhaps humbled by a wage cut and a disastrous season at Liverpool, the 25-year-old Italian striker is preparing to spend a season at Milan, where he scored 30 goals in 54 appearances between 2012-14.

The closest Balotelli has come to realizing his potential was during the season and a half he spent at the San Siro, and now he’ll get the chance to build on that after a miserable 2014-15 found him scoring just four times in 28 appearances for Liverpool (just once in 16 Premier League appearances).
“I am happy to be back. I don’t have much to say because I just need to train and show what I can contribute. Physically I am ok but I need to train with the squad. I am very motivated but I need to work hard and talk less. I always hoped I would return to Milan, the club hold a special place in my heart. Do I want to end my career here? I just want to get back to work and have a good season, I have to work and that is it.”
We shall see, but if Milan can bring out the form that saw Balotelli break through for club and country — he scored 7 goals in 13 caps for Italy in 2013 — we’ll all be winners.
