Joining Tuesday’s winners are…
Club Brugge 0-4 (1-7) Manchester United
RECAP | Watch Rooney’s first
A hat trick from Wayne Rooney proved he’s not done yet, as Memphis Depay, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata took turns putting Rooney in the catbird seat, and the Englishman finished with class. Louis van Gaal’s charges are onto the group stage. Herrera added a late goal off a feed from Bastian Schweinsteiger
Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 (3-1) Lazio
Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Admir Mehmedi netted on both sides of halftime to help Miroslav Klose-less Bayer advance into the group stage, overcoming the 1-0 deficit suffered in Italy.
Lazio’s Mauricio took a second yellow card midway through the second half to all but put this to bed for Bayer, and Karim Bellarabi finished the score line just before the end of scheduled time.

APOEL Nicosia 1-1 (1-2) Astana
Semir Štilić hit a heck of a free kick to draw the Cypriots level with the visiting Kazakh side, but Astana got a clutch goal from Serbian hot shot Nemanja Maksimović in the 84th minute.
Partizan Belgrade 2-1 (2-2) BATE Borisov
Ihar Stasevich scored for BATE, which brought a 1-0 advantage from Belarus. Partizan left back Nemanja Petrović gave the hosts some life with a deflected shot in the 74th minute, but they would only find one more goal: a stoppage time tally from Ivan Šaponjić. BATE goes through.
CSKA Moscow 3-1 (4-3) Sporting CP
Teofilo Gutierrez was sent in 1v1 with Igor Akinfeev, and the Colombian forward used a classy dink to give Sporting a road lead to go with its 1-0 home win, but Seydou Doumbia scored a rebound goal to make it 1-1 in the match.
Doumbia struck again to make it all-even on aggregate at 2-2, putting penalty kicks in play. Moscow wouldn’t need to wait, though, as Ahmed Musa scored late to boost a second Russian side into the group stage.
