Friday’s Transfer Rumor Roundup: West Brom agrees for Evans, De Guzman to Bournemouth

West Bromwich Albion has agreed to a transfer fee for Manchester United’s Jonny Evans. According to multiple reports, the deal is worth around $9 million, with an additional $3 million in add-ons.

Evans has been with Manchester United since his teens, and has made nearly 200 appearances for the Red Devils, winning three Premier League titles and two League Cups. However, the 27-year-old defender has had a hard time finding minutes under Louis van Gaal, and will likely be pushed into a starting center-back role at West Brom.

Jonathan de Guzman had been linked with a move to Sunderland, but now it looks like the Napoli winger could be on his way to Bournemouth. Sunderland had agreed with Napoli for a loan deal, but de Guzman rejected the move as Dick Advocaat has announced the “deal is dead.”

De Guzman played in the Premier League with Swansea City for two seasons from 2012-14, and The Daily Mail is reporting that Bournemouth has been in serious talks with the player’s representatives. The 27-year-old winger scored 15 goals during his time at Swansea, and represented the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup.

The Cherries are also interested in signing Lewis Grabban, who is currently in a sticky situation at Norwich City. Grabban stormed out of the team hotel after learning he would not start in Norwich’s League Cup match midweek, and was subsequently suspended by the club. Bournemouth has already had three bids for the striker rejected by Norwich, as Eddie Howe is keen to bring Grabban back to the South coast. Grabban scored 35 goals in two seasons with Bournemouth from 2012-14 before moving to Norwich City last summer.

In your daily Saido Berahino update, there are conflicting reports coming out of The Hawthorns. West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace released a statement reaffirming that he would not sell his star striker, but manager Tony Pulis said he could not rule out a move. Pulis also said he was not sure if Berahino would feature for the Baggies on Saturday against Stoke City. Expect this one to keep brewing until the window closes.
