Jose Mourinho is building for the future, buying Jamaican defender Michael Hector for $6 million and immediately loaning him back to Reading.
Hector, 23, was born in England and has been with Reading since 2009. He’s been on loan 11 times from the Royals, most notably at Aberdeen and Barnet.

It’s been a busy year for the Jamaican international, having earned his first six caps for the Reggae Boyz and participated in all three of Jamaica’s matches at the Copa America in Chile.
Chelsea signed Hector to a five-year deal.
Hector, from London and a boyhood Chelsea supporter, began his career in the youth team at Millwall and moved to the Reading academy in 2009.
Having continued his development and gained crucial experience of first-team football out on loan, Hector made his Reading debut in January 2014 at the age of 21.
