The Stoke City forward handed in a transfer request with the Potters on Monday, as he only has one-year left on his current contract and negotiations over a new deal have broken down in recent days.

Walters, 31, has scored 51 goals in 217 PL games for the Potters and would be a valuable addition to the three aforementioned teams.

However it appears that Stoke is reluctant to let Walters leave for around $5 million as they do not want to let the Republic of Ireland international leave without signing a replacement who can play in an attacking midfield role.

The powerful forward can play as a central striker or in either of the wide positions and with Norwich struggling for an out-and-out forward, plus Leicester needing reinforcements up top and West Brom’s manager Tony Pulis signing Walters for Stoke back in 2010, all three teams have their reasons for leaning on his experience.

With Stoke not willing to offer Walters a long-term deal, the player will seemingly get that elsewhere and doesn’t want to simply let his contract run out in the Potteries.
