The game in 100 words (or less): On a hot night in the Citrus Bowl, Orlando City SC defeated Sporting KC 3-1 thanks to a double from Adrian Winter, his first two goals for the club. Orlando managed the win without Kaka, who was injured midweek while playing with Brazil. However, Brek Shea returned for his first appearance since late June after dealing with a sports hernia, and made an immediate impact off the bench, assisting on what turned out to be the game-winning goal. Sporting KC’s downfall continues, with just one point from their past five matches.

Three moments that mattered
3′ — Adrian Winter gives Orlando an early lead — Luke Boden hit in a free kick to the back post, where Adrian Winter connected on a header to give Orlando a lead just minutes into the match. The goal was the fastest in Orlando City SC history.
55′ — Krisztian Nemeth finds an equalizer for KC — Kansas City got back into the match ten minutes after the break when Krisztian Nemeth fired the visitors level. Nemeth cut towards the middle of the box and got a lucky bounce off of a defender, and then buried his shot into the top corner to make it 1-1.
66′ — Substitutes connect to put Orlando back in front — Bryan Rochez and Brek Shea were both on the pitch for less than ten minutes before the two combined to put Orlando City ahead 2-1. Shea took a long clearance into the box and cut a pass back to a trailing Rochez, who made no mistake with the finish.
