Mourinho makes Chelsea a banter-free zone

It’s going to be a boring time for talk at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, as the Telegraph claims Jose Mourinho has reportedly banned all banter at Chelsea.

With the Blues struggling to open their Premier League title defense, the 52-year-old Portuguese manager has apparently decided talking trash ranks right up their with on-field ills.

That’s not going to stop Mourinho from taking some shots at the media, but the sharp wit will not hit the training ground.

From The Telegraph:

However, while Mourinho has so far decided against ranting and raving at his underperforming players, there has been no attempt to lighten the dark mood at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.

Mourinho and his players have mixed hard work with plenty of laughs since his return in 2013, but the jokes have now completely stopped as Chelsea desperately try to find their form.

The report also rejects a Stan Collymore report that there’s a rift between struggling Chelsea captain John Terry and combustible forward Diego Costa.

There may be a shortage of points at Chelsea right now, but there’s clearly no lack of talking points.
