The game in 100 words (or less): The Crew won their fourth straight win on the road to move to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Ethan Finlay and Kei Kamara both scored for Columbus, as the pair has been one of the most consistent duos in the league throughout the season. The Crew leads the league with 49 goals on the year, with 21 of those coming from Kamara, which is also tops in the league. With a little help from the Chicago Fire later tonight, Columbus could officially earn a playoff berth.

Three moments that mattered
27′ — Finlay puts Columbus ahead — Ethan Finlay’s great season for Columbus continued tonight, scoring his ninth goal of the year to put the Crew ahead. Tyson Wahl just got enough on a pass to the near post, where Finlay used his strength to hold off his defender before turning and firing home from close range.
49′ — Kei Kamara scores his 21st goal to make it 2-0 Crew — Kei Kamara scored his league-leading 21st goal right after the break to give Columbus a two goal lead. Kamara used his speed to get in behind the D.C. defense, and was cool with his finish, flicking his shot past Bill Hamid and into the back of the net.
68′ — Rolfe converts penalty for DC — Chris Klute was called for a hand ball in the box, and Chris Rolfe was the man to take the penalty for D.C. United. Rolfe roofed his shot into the top corner to give the home side some life with just over 20 minutes to play.
