With reigning Premier League champions Chelsea losing three of their opening five games this season, Mourinho’s side can’t afford to lose to Arsenal on Saturday and slip further behind their title and local rivals. Chelsea did rebound in UEFA Champions League play in midweek, hammering Maccabi Tel Aviv with several fringe players impressing, while Arsenal succumbed to Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 and had Olivier Giroud sent off.
In team news Chelsea leave captain John Terry on the bench but bring back Nemanja Matic, Branislav Ivanovic and Pedro after they missed the UCL win over Maccabi. Arsenal start with Theo Walcott up top on his own with Ozil, Sanchez and Ramsey supporting him, while Petr Cech returns to Stamford Bridge to face his old team.
