Bundesliga wrap: Lewandowski still on fire; ‘Gladbach wins again

It was a day for the road sides.

Bayern Munich are still perfect in the Bundesliga, and Borussia Dortmund can’t keep pace until Sunday, a day that will also see two USMNT players on opposite sides of the pitch.

Hannover and Stuttgart finish the day in the drop zone, while Augsburg is in 16th.

Werder Bremen 0-3 Bayer Leverkusen

Admir Mehmedi continued his fine play with a 31st minute goal, and then Bayer tallied twice in seven second-half minutes to salt away Saturday match at Weser-Stadion.

USMNT striker Aron Johannsson was not involved for the hosts.

Stuttgart 1-3 Borussia Monchengladbach

USMNT midfielder/back Fabian Johnson remains a talisman for ‘Gladbach, which is out of the regulation zone upon winning back-to-back matches. The U.S. man played 90 minutes on the left flank, while Raffael and Granit Xhaka scored in addition to a Stuttgart own goal.

Mainz 0-3 Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski backed up his midweek five-spot with two more at Mainz, and keep your eye out for Kingsley Coman. The 19-year-old ex-Juventus and PSG man scored again for the table leaders.
