Reports: Klopp, Liverpool making quick progress

These things sure move quickly in this day and age, don’t they? Barely eight hours ago it was reported that Liverpool had formally contact Jurgen Klopp regarding the Premier League club’s vacant managerial post following the Sunday sacking of Brendan Rodgers.

Fast forward to Monday evening (now Tuesday UK time), and all reports coming out of the UK point to Monday having been a successful day of discussions and negotiations between the two sides. So much so, in fact, that the BBC, the Guardian and the Telegraph are now reporting that a deal could be agreed, finalized and announced by the end of this week.

There are, of course, no league games this weekend as the October international window has officially begun, which means should Klopp take the Reds job this week, he’d have this weekend, Monday and Tuesday to prepare before leading his first training session with the entirety of the first team next Wednesday.

No further details were reported Monday evening regarding specifics of the discussions and/or negotiations (i.e. contract length, wages and Liverpool’s “transfer committee” structure).
