Sebastian Giovinco is your MLS MVP this season, and it’s not even close.
Heading into tonight’s match against the Red Bulls, Giovinco sat second in the league with 21 goals and first in the league with 12 assists.
Well, after less than ten minutes on the pitch, Giovinco had scored his 22nd goal of the season, and it was his best one yet.
Giovinco took a pass, turned by one defender, split two more, cut past another, and then unleashed a left-footed shot into the side netting at the back post. Simply brilliant.
With 22 goals, Giovinco is now tied with the Columbus Crew’s Kei Kamara for the league lead. The two sides meet this Saturday, October 17.
Not only will the Golden Boot be on the line, but also seeding in the Eastern Conference, as Columbus sits two points behind Toronto.
