2015 MLS playoff scenarios heading into Week 33

Don’t look now, but the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs begin two weeks from yesterday (Wednesday). In light of that, two questions come to mind: 1) where did 2015 go? 2) who’s in, who’s out and who’s next to clinch?

On Tuesday, our guy Joe Prince-Wright brought us up to date on the Eastern Conference’s playoff scenarios. On Wednesday, there were three midweek games that heavily impacted playoff races, particularly in the West.

  • Sporting Kansas City win or tie vs. San Jose Earthquakes on Friday

Seattle Sounders will clinch a berth in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs IF

  • Seattle Sounders win vs. Houston Dynamo on Saturday

OR

  • Seattle Sounders tie vs. Houston Dynamo on Saturday

AND

  • San Jose Earthquakes lose or tie vs. Sporting Kansas City on Friday

OR

  • San Jose Earthquakes lose vs. Sporting Kansas City on Friday

Portland Timbers will clinch a berth in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs IF

  • Portland Timbers win vs. LA Galaxy on Sunday

AND

  • San Jose Earthquakes lose or tie vs. Sporting Kansas City on Friday

OR

  • Portland Timbers tie vs. LA Galaxy on Sunday

AND

  • San Jose Earthquakes lose vs. Sporting Kansas City on Friday

Houston Dynamo will be eliminated from playoff contention IF

FC Dallas will clinch first place in the Western Conference IF
