It appears that Manchester United’s pursuit of Neymar is legit.

The father of Brazilian superstar Neymar has told Boa Tarde Fox that United made bids last summer for his son.
Neymar Junior, 23, has long been linked with a move away from Barcelona despite flourishing alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in attack as the Catalan club won the treble last season.
“The offer reached Barcelona and the club contacted us saying they were not going to sell,” Neymar Sr said. “They asked if we were interested but that wasn’t the case. Barcelona are not selling, he has three years still to go on his contract.
“It was Manchester’s deal, but that offer is not on the table now, it has fallen through.”
The $75 million transfer of Brazil’s skipper from Santos to Barca two years ago has been heavily scrutinized and investigations are still ongoing into alleged tax fraud. His father was at the center of the negotiations and it has been alleged that tax was not paid for various parts of the transfer fee.
If anybody knows what has been going on with Neymar and supposed bids from United, it is his agent and father, Neymar senior.
Let’s see if United come back in for the forward in the upcoming transfer windows, as at a recent Fans Forum at Old Trafford executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward confirmed the Res Devils plan to spend big in the coming months as they aim to return to past glories.
