The first half between Bayer Leverkusen and Roma has been a wild one, as the teams traded goals to head into the break tied at two.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez scored two early goals to put Leverkusen ahead 2-0. In the fourth minute, Chicharito cooly converted a penalty kick past Wojciech Szczęsny, who is on loan at Roma from Arsenal.
Before the clock hit 20 minutes, Chicharito had scored his second of the half. The Mexico international took a through ball and turned in on goal, and despite having his first attempt saved by Sczesny, followed up his rebound to double Leverkusen’s lead.
While it looked like Leverkusen was going to cruise, Roma captain Daniele De Rossi scored two goals himself to put the visitors back in contention. At the break, things are all level at 2-2.
