- Sherwood in trouble after another loss
- Jordan Ayew helps Villa to lead
- Sigurdsson ties it with free kick
- Andre Ayew scores to complete comeback W
One Ayew answered another, and it could cost Tim Sherwood his job.
Andre Ayew scored in the 87th minute to lift Swansea City past Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday, as Swans rallied to overcome Jordan Ayew’s goal and put Sherwood’s managerial status back in the headlines.
Gylfi Sigurdsson also scored a wonderful free kick for Swans in erasing their brief disadvantage.

Villa stays sunk in the Premier League drop zone, and could sink to last if Sunderland beats Newcastle in Sunday’s derby.
The Villans earned a dangerous free kick inside of three minutes, but Kieran Richardson opted to curl a ball directly to Lukasz Fabianski rather than aim for a group of onrushing Villans.
And Swans should’ve very much gone up when Jonjo Shelvey‘s corner was headed back to Federico Fernandez, but the Swans defender hit an awful effort over the goal.

Bafetimbi Gomis pushed a Shelvey feed just wide of the far post in the 59th minute.
It would be Villa who broke through, sending Tim Sherwood into a defiant celebration. Gabriel Agbonlahor crossed and Ayew stooped to head it past Fabianski.
Swans came right back to provide Sherwood a reluctant and downcast acceptance look, as Sigurdsson put a gorgeous free kick home. Brad Guzan had no chance, despite being airborne, at full extension, and parallel with the goal line.
And clearly, the club wasn’t concerned with avoiding the topic of Sherwood’s job status:
