The first Manchester derby of the season pits a pair of teams with a chance to go top of the league with a win as Manchester City visits Old Trafford to take on Manchester United live on NBCSN at 10:05 a.m. ET or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.

Both teams sit in a Champions League place and have been two of the best teams in the league this season, so the result of this game will have major implications on the immediate and long-term fortunes of each team.

Manchester United comes into this game nearly completely healthy, with just the long-term injuries to Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw to concern the club, while Ashley Young should return from a hamstring injury soon, but not today.

Unfortunately for the visitors, Manuel Pellegrini has a heavily depleted squad. David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Fabian Delph are all injured and miss out today, leaving Wilfried Bony to start up front, supported by new signings Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne.

Both sides feature in-form attackers, with Martial firing for Manchester United, and while he hasn’t scored in league play since his double against Southampton in late September, he bagged a goal in Champions League play midweek. De Bruyne is in dizzying form for City, with three goals in his last four Premier League matches, and he also scored midweek in Champions League competition.
