The game in 100 words (or less): The stars were out and showing off in Canada on Sunday, as a pair of Didier Drogba canceled out a single tally from Jozy Altidore to complete the Montreal Impact’s come-from-behind victory over Toronto FC, thus securing a home date in the MLS Cup Playoffs knockout round, where they’ll host this same TFC side again later this week. Drogba’s brace came 90 seconds apart shortly after halftime and vaulted the Impact from fifth to third in the Eastern Conference. For Toronto FC, a sixth-place finish means the club’s long-awaited first playoff appearance will come away from the friendly confines of BMO Field.

Three moments that mattered

31′ — Bush skies to palm Finley’s header over the bar — Giovinco wriggled free from two defenders inside the penalty, chipped a delicate ball to the top of the six-yard box, where Robbie Finley was waiting. Finley’s header sent the ball back across goal, but Evan Bush leapt to put a big right hand to it and tip it over the crossbar.

45′ — Altidore heads home from six yards — Giovinco wriggled free down that same left flank (yes, again), floated a delicate ball to the top of the six (yes, again), this time to Jozy Altidore, who made no mistake as he headed it back across goal to beat Bush (WATCH HERE).

54′ — Drogba’s 90-second brace puts Montreal on top — Barely 90 seconds apart, Drogba turned the game on its head with a pair of goals, each a beautifully delicate finish of its own (WATCH HERE).
