With Capital One Cup action today, there are four matches featuring six Premier League sides looking for a trophy any way they can get it. We’re down to the final 16 teams in the tournament, and with four matches today all kicking off at 3:45 p.m. ET, there are still a few lower league surprises.
Arsenal and Chelsea both take the field, with the Blues traveling to Stoke still looking to gain a foothold on their season schedule and Jose Mourinho in a dire situation. The Gunners also hit the road, making their way to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
Another all-Premier League matchup features Everton and Norwich City, with the Canaries reeling on a four-match winless run in all competitions. The Toffees aren’t in great form themselves, without a win in the month of October, including a pair of losses their last two times out.
Meanwhile, Leicester City brings its flying form to Championship side Hull City. Jamie Vardy, amid a hodgepodge of transfer rumors – some sensible and some not – is on the bench while Shinji Okazaki gets the nod up front. Hull City is no pushover, as they sit second in the Championship table in addition to making the final 16 of the league cup.
