Bayern Munich drop first points of season with 0-0 draw at Eintracht

But Tottenham’s record will stand for another season as Bayern was held to a scoreless draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Not only was it the first points dropped by Bayern in the Bundesliga, but it was also the first time they failed to score in league play. In their previous ten league matches, Bayern was averaging 3.3 goals per game.

Bayern dominated the game, controlling nearly 75-percent of possession, with 70-percent of that coming in the attacking third. However, they couldn’t find the back of the net against an Eintracht side that sits 11th in the league.

Eintracht was eliminated from the German Cup midweek by a third-division side, making today’s draw against the mighty Bayern that much more impressive.

Despite the draw, Bayern still sits nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table. Their next match comes Wednesday in the Champions League, when Arsenal travels to Munich for a big Group F showdown.
