Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho waited until right on the stroke of half time to deliver a damaging blow to Chelsea.
Liverpool’s attacking midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the box just before referee Mark Clattenburg was about to blow his whistle and sold John Terry a dummy before shifting the ball onto his left foot and curling a sumptuous shot past Asmir Begovic and in. Thanks to that strike Liverpool went in level at 1-1 with Chelsea at the break.
