In Sterling’s tenth UCL appearance, the 20-year-old scored his first goal in the competition, taking a through ball from Fernandinho and cooly slotting it past the keeper.
Sterling then helped set up Fernandinho for a goal of his own, pick-pocketing a Sevilla defender before nutmegging another and feeding Wilfried Bony in the box. Bony’s original shot was saved, but Fernandinho followed up the rebound to head home, giving City a two-goal lead.
