Romelu Lukaku and Manuel Lanzini each scored good-looking goals, and West Ham avoided what could’ve been a late penalty in a 1-1 draw with Everton at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday.
The points-share leaves Everton in 8th place with 17 points, four points behind No. 5 West Ham after a lively, even game in London.
Andy Carroll headed a Ross Barkley cross onto his wrist late, but Paul Tierney resisted the urge to blow his whistle.

Dimitri Payet, as usual, had the Hammers looked dangerous early. The Frenchman cued up Victor Moses for a chance hit just wide of the goal.
It was a free-flowing affair, with chances but no finishing touch. Aaron Cresswell hit an absolutely gorgeous looking curler with the outside of his foot, but it just missed the bar.
Lanzini then stepped onto a loose ball outside the 18 and carried it in a step before cheekily curling a wonderful shot past Tim Howard and into the upper 90.

The Toffees evened it up before halftime on a classy connection between Gerard Deulofeu and Lukaku. The Belgian darted onto the end of Deulofeu’s through ball and touched around Adrian to pass a ball home from a tough angle.
Here’s a nice stat for you trivia buffs:
1 – Manuel Lanzini is the first West Ham player since Bobby Zamora (06/07) to score past both Merseyside clubs in same PL season. Paradise.
