Match Day 3 of 2018 CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying sees several sides already in a bind despite 8/9 of the qualification schedule left to play.

Four matches will be staged on Thursday, with a fifth coming on Friday. Match Day 4 will be played on Tuesday.

Argentina has an especially perilous task. Without Lionel Messi and staring at a 0-1-1 start to qualifying, La Albiceleste host Brazil before heading to Colombia.

Oh, and Brazil has Neymar back from suspension, that very same Neymar who is one of the two hottest players in the world (the other rhymes with Schmobert Schmewandowski).

Peru is Brazil’s other opponent, and one of three nations off to an 0-2 start in qualifying. The other two are Bolivia and Venezuela, who will square off in La Paz on Thursday.

Also on Thursday, Colombia (1W-1L) heads to Chile (2-0) for a meaty match-up, while Ecuador and Uruguay put their 2-0 records on the line in Quito.
