Trinidad & Tobago 0-0 United States

The U.S. took a point on a hot and humid night in Trinidad & Tobago. Tim Howard got the start in goal, however neither goalkeeper was really tested in a relatively uneventful match. The U.S. would have liked to have a better performance, but four points from the opening two matches puts them in a good position moving forward.

Honduras 0-2 Mexico

New manager Juan Carlos Osorio remains perfect, earning his second win in two matches leading El Tri. Osorio’s decisions proved to be the difference, as substitutes Jesus Corona and Jurgen Damm both scored in the second half to lead Mexico to a 2-0 win over Honduras. Unfortunately, the match was overshadowed by a gruesome injury to Houston Dynamo and Honduras midfielder Luis Garrido, in what looked to be a devastating leg break.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines 0-4 Guatemala

After falling to Trinidad & Tobago in their opening match, Guatemala got back on track with a big 4-0 win over St. Vincent and the Grenadines. SVG has now conceded 10 goals in two games, as teams will look at a match against the islanders as a surefire three points.

Haiti 0-1 Jamaica

A second half goal from Clayton Donaldson led Jamaica to a close win over Haiti. The Reggae Boyz impressed in the Gold Cup when they reached the finals, but were shut-out against Panama, barely scraped by Haiti, and are still to face Costa Rica, the toughest team in Group 2.

Panama 1-2 Costa Rica

After more than an hour of scoreless play, the two sides erupted for three goals in five minutes as Costa Rica left Panama with a 2-1 win. Bryan Ruiz and Marcos Urena scored back-to-back goals to put Los Ticos ahead by two, but Luis Tejada answered just minutes later to bring one back for Panama. Costa Rica would hold on for the win to jump to the top of Group 2 with a maximum six points.

El Salvador 0-0 Canada

Canada earned an impressive win over Honduras in their opening match, but couldn’t break through El Salvador in their second, settling for a scoreless draw at Estadio Cuscatlan. The Canadians will take four points from two matches, as they have yet to face Group 1 leaders Mexico.
