A battle of USMNT goalkeepers tilted decidedly in the favor of Tim Howard thanks to Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley.

The win moves Everton to 7th with 20 points, while Villa remain mired at the bottom of the Premier League with five points through 13 matches.

Everton got on the board in the 17th minute, as Villa keeper Brad Guzan was left out to dry at his back post. After a silky build-up, Guzan’s made a diving save only to watch as both Barkley and Brendan Galloway could’ve tapped home.

Lukaku doubled the Toffees advantage when he powered home a header off Seamus Coleman‘s cross in the 28th minute.

And Barkley got to the end of a goalmouth scramble to make it 3-0 before halftime.

Lukaku piled on in the 58th minute with a left-footed finish from the center of the box, off a Barkley assist.

He now has eclipsed the 50 goal mark in the Premier League. Seventeen of those came for West Bromwich Albion, and none during his time at Chelsea.
