Catch up on all of Saturday’s action in Spain’s top flight.
Valencia 1-1 Barcelona
With newly appointed manager Gary Neville in the stands, his younger brother Phil was leading the side from the touchline as Valencia earned a huge point against Barcelona. After scoring at least three goals in each of the past six games, Barcelona was held to just one from Luis Suarez on Saturday. Barca had more of possession and the better of chances, but Santi Mina equalized for Valencia with less than five minutes to play. Gary Neville’s first match in charge will be a midweek Champions League clash against Lyon.
Granada 0-2 Atletico Madrid
Goals from Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann move Atleti to within two points of leaders Barcelona after a 2-0 win over Granada. Griezmann has four goals in his last three matches for the club, as Diego Simeone’s men have won four straight in the league and are unbeaten in 12 in all competitions. Atletico’s last loss came to Benfica in the Champions League way back in September.
Real Madrid 4-1 Getafe
Real Madrid cruised to an easy win over Getafe at the Bernabeu. Real jumped out to a 4-0 lead before halftime thanks to a brace from Karim Benzema along with goals from Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo now has ten league goals on the season, behind only Neymar (14) and Luis Suarez (13). Rafa Benitez has Real sitting third on the table, two points behind Atletico and four behind Barcelona.
