Jose Mourinho is running against the wind, but feels that resistance won’t move Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The Blues boss was speaking on Tuesday, one day ahead of a hopeful advancement to the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds and even a Group G title.
But, of course, he was also speaking on the back end of a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, a wild result for both clubs that has the “#MourinhoOut” crowd in full force.
But Mourinho’s not worried about the sack.
“If the owner shows me that belief twice – one when he brought me back, the second time when he gave me a new contract for four years – I don’t think the owner is a person to change with the wind.
“I know the wind with the results is an important wind. I know this wind is really strong, because the results in the Premier League are really bad.”
Who knew Bob Seger had a connection to Chelsea?
“It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Chelsea was lovely / They were the queen of the table
There at the Bridge with the guard of honor, right on show”
