The Champions League match between Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach got off to a blazing start, as the sides traded goals within the opening 20 minutes.

David Silva gave City the lead, but the USMNT’s Fabian Johnson set up an equalizer for Gladbach just minutes later.

Manchester City controlled the early play, rewarded with a goal from David Silva in the 16th minute. Raheem Sterling turned on his defender and played a clever back-heel through, where Silva ran on and hammered a shot into the roof of the net.

As soon as City went ahead, Gladbach turned around their play and started flying forward on the attack. United States international Fabian Johnson sliced through the City defense on the left wing and played a ball through the box. His cross found Julian Korb, who finished neatly back across goal to level the score at one.

Highly entertaining stuff at the Etihad, and there’s still plenty more football to be played.
