Speaking to French radio station RMC, super-agent Mino Raiola, who represents Zlatan, said his client was a “gift” to French football.
Raiola went on to say that the French league was “nothing” without Zlatan, stroking the striker’s already super-sized ego.
When he chose Paris, it was a difficult choice.
Everyone talks about Ronaldo or Messi today. But they forget one thing: Zlatan has put Paris on the footballing map. The French have to get used to players of a high level. With Zlatan, they’ve learned after three years.
PSG without Zlatan is like Formula One without Ferrari. It’s like champagne without bubbles.
The French league without Zlatan is nothing. PSG gave French football a gift with Zlatan.
Since Zlatan arrived in Paris from Milan in 2012, PSG has won three consecutive Ligue 1 titles as the Swedish striker has become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Before Zlatan arrived, the club had not won the league since 1994 and hadn’t won a major trophy since 2008. Of course, PSG’s surge of success also has to do with the Qatari ownership group that bought the team in 2011 and pumped billions of dollars into the club. However, there’s no denying the impact Zlatan has had on PSG’s growth.
A toast to Zlatan!
