Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion battled to a 2-2 draw last Sunday, with Divock Origi scoring a late equalizer in the 96th minute to steal a point for the Reds.

After the match, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp did not shake hands with West Brom’s Tony Pulis, as the two had gone back-and-forth on the touchline throughout the match.

Klopp and Pulis got into it when West Brom’s Craig Gardner went in for a challenge with Dejan Lovren, forcing Lovren to be taken off on a stretcher. Klopp then celebrated in the face of Pulis after Origi’s late equalizer.

Asked about the incident, Klopp responded by saying “Usually I shake hands; I did not today because it was not a friendly game.”

West Brom winger James McClean chimed in on Klopp’s behavior, calling the German “a bit of an idiot.”

Obviously, look I have got respect for the man because he did a great job at Dortmund and that.

But I think he is a bit of an idiot if I am being honest. On the game on Sunday you can’t act that way. Win, lose or draw you have got to be respectful.

Tony Pulis is one of the most well-respected managers in the Premier League and his players are extremely loyal to him, making it no surprise that McClean has come out and criticized Klopp. While Pulis himself has said he had no problems with the Liverpool boss, he surely won’t forget what happened at Anfield on Sunday.

The next time these two sides meet is on May 15 in the final match of the season. With Liverpool likely to be battling for a spot in European competition, Pulis and his players would like nothing better than to spoil those chances at The Hawthorns.
