Less than a week after being fired by Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is being heavily linked with the Manchester United job.
Representatives for Mourinho, 52, are already said to have held talks with United’s hierarchy as Louis Van Gaal continues to feel the heat. The Red Devils are winless in six games and slipped out of the top four at the weekend following a defeat to Norwich City at home.

That loss was United’s second-straight Premier League defeat — both of which came against newly-promoted teams — and with scoring goals continuing to be a problem, the fans remain restless and are questioning whether or not any progress has been made under van Gaal over the past 18 months.
With over $400 million spent on new players since he arrived, that’s concerning.
Mourinho was thought to be the number one target for United following Sir Alex Ferguson‘s retirement in 2013 but the directors at Old Trafford didn’t want antics leading the way and instead gave the job to David Moyes. It’s safe to say that if Mourinho was offered this job now then he’d be ready to jump right back into management, which is exactly what his representatives said in a statement following his firing.
Seeing Mourinho fire up the Stretford End after a big win against Chelsea would be quite the sight, wouldn’t it? It remains to be seen whether or not the “Special One” will stay in England but given the fact that he has now been fired by Chelsea for the second time, any loyalty he has for the Blues will have diminished slightly and his connections with Chelsea surely won’t stop him taking the United job.
Should United bring in Mourinho to take them back to the upper echelons of the Premier League and Europe?
