Chicharito was sold by Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen for around $11 million this summer after he was deemed as excess talent by Louis Van Gaal. While United has struggled, Chicharito has been brilliant for Leverkusen, scoring 19 goals in 21 games for the German club. Currently in the form of his career, Hernandez’s stock is at an all-time high, as it would take a large paycheck for Leverkusen to sell their star striker after just a few months.
Arsenal’s North London rival Tottenham are also in search of a striker, with Spurs reportedly interested in Italian starlet Domenico Berardi. Gazzetta dello Sport says the Sassuolo goalscorer would cost nearly $40 million, as the 21-year-old was named Serie A’s Young Footballer of the Year in 2014. It took Berardi just 59 games to score 30 goals in Serie A as a teenager, and Italian giants Juventus are also reportedly looking to sign the young striker.
Gazzetta dello Sport is also reporting that Napoli’s Jonathan De Guzman‘s move to Bournemouth is back on. The former Swansea City man was heavily linked with a move to the Cherries over the summer, but the deal fell through at the last minute. However, de Guzman has not featured for Napoli at all this season, with a move away from Italy looking very likely to go through in January.
United States international Brad Guzman could have some competition at Aston Villa, as manager Remi Garde wants to sign a new goalkeeper in January. According to The Telegraph, Garde is interested in signing Marseille’s Steve Mandanda, who was named the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year last season.
