Somebody should have bought Sadio Mane a new watch for Christmas.
Seriously.
Mane, 23, was dropped from Southampton’s clash against Norwich City on Saturday — which they lost 1-0 to continue their slide down the table — due to his tardiness as he turned up late for a team meeting.

This is not the first time Mane has been disciplined for being late, as the Senegalese flyer was dropped from Southampton’s starting lineup for their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last season for also missing a team meeting.
Saints boss Ronald Koeman runs a pretty tight ship down at St Mary’s and had the following to say when explaining Mane’s position on the bench.
With plenty of huge clubs such as Manchester United linked continuously with a $50 million plus move for the forward, is Mane trying to engineer himself a move away from Southampton in January? The cynics out there would say so and behavior like this, plus Koeman’s post-game comments, will fuel those fires further.
“Sometimes when there is traffic around the training centre there is a difference. They’ll pay a fine but so close to the game, you expect from each player to be focused for your club, your fans, your team mates. If you don’t have this then there is no place at Southampton,” Koeman said.
