Southampton sealed the capture of Charlie Austin, then picked up three points to go with their new striker.
Saints got a pair of goals from James Ward-Prowse — one a stunning free kick — and Dusan Tadic added the dagger deep into the second half in a 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at St. Mary;s on Saturday.
Tenth-place Southampton has won two-straight, while the Baggies lost for the first time in four matches to sit eight points above the drop in 13th place.

An early foul allowed Saints to go up after just five minutes, with Ward-Prowse again showing off his dead ball leg, curling a shot over and around the wall to beat Boaz Myhill.
And JWP made it 2-0 when Matt Targett drew a penalty in the Baggies’ area.

It was an even affair in terms of shot attempts, but West Brom failed to put a single shot on goal.
Saints, however, were fairly clinical. Tadic added a tight-angled goal nine minutes after subbing on for Sadio Mane, and Southampton was on cruise control.
