Didier Drogba tweeted that he is preparing for the upcoming MLS season, and with that confirmed that he will return to the Montreal Impact, despite rumors that he would join the Chelsea coaching staff in the near future.
As a result, the Impact released a statement saying that Drogba would be around for the second half of preseason in St. Petersburg, Florida in late February.
It was reported by L’Equipe in early January that Drogba would retire and join the Chelsea coaching staff, but now it appears that won’t be happening.
Drogba was fantastic for Montreal after joining mid-season last year. He scored 11 goals in 11 games, pushing the Impact to the playoffs.
