Nacer Chadli scored a pair of goals, while Eric Dier and Tom Carroll also scored as Spurs went into Colchester Community Stadium and cruised to a 4-1 win over Colchester United on Saturday in the fourth round of FA Cup action.
Spurs were absolutely dominant for most of the first half, and it didn’t help that a pair of injuries forced the U’s into early subs.

Chadli scored a lovely goal to put Spurs up in the 27th minute. With Erik Lamela springing the Belgian into space, Chadli hit a ball from the edge of the 18 that curved beyond the reach of Colchester United keeper Jake Kean (who is on loan from Norwich City).
A glorious cross from Kieran Trippier should’ve put Spurs up 2-0 before halftime, but the ex-Burnley man’s pass skittered off the shin of Harry Kane (who was wrongly ruled to be offside after the bad miss).
Colchester held on for a while but Dier netted in the 64th minute before Chadli and Carroll added goals four minutes apart to salt it away.
