Louis Van Gaal will enjoy his post-match meal more than usual after Manchester United broke out of their first half doldrums with a 3-0 win over visiting Stoke City on Tuesday.
And this wasn’t just a blowout.
From the BBC:
“I am a very happy coach because I have seen fantastic goals, team goals, where we are building up from the back and finishing like that, and also controlling the game in the second half. Michael Carrick said to me after the match that it is so different when you score the early goal.”
This isn’t to say all is well at Old Trafford, or even on the road to “all is well”, but United put in a fairly vintage shift on Tuesday.
With the race for the Premier League as muddled as ever, it’d be unwise to bet United won’t make a run.
