Ahead of United’s Round of 32 Europa League first leg at FC Midtjylland the Spanish goalkeeper was injured in the warm up and had to pull out of the game.

Sergio Romero replaced De Gea, 25, in the starting lineup and United had no reserve goalkeeper on the bench. De Gea appeared to twist his ankle during the warm up.

The Red Devils will try not to use this spate of ailments as an excuse but it will surely play its part in the coming weeks as the pressure further builds on LVG and he was forced to name several youngsters on the bench for the trip to Denmark on Thursday.
Currently United are six points off the top four in the Premier League, are in the last 32 of the Europa League and in the last 16 of the FA Cup.
The games will come thick and fast for United this month… but will they have enough fit players left to suit up?
