Juan Mata was the star of the show as Manchester United cruised past Shrewsbury Town, 3-0, in an FA Cup match at New Meadow on Monday.

Jesse Lingard and Chris Smalling also scored for the Red Devils, who advance to host West Ham in the sixth round.

Shrewsbury Town, which started American back Zak Whitbread, was game from the get-go, and the New Meadow crowd amplified its hopes onto its team, even tossing “Who are ya?” chants at their Premier League opponents.

Former Arsenal and Dag & Red man Abu Ogogu cleared a deflected Anthony Martial shot off the line as one of several standout defensive plays in the opening frame.

Smalling put United ahead in the 38th minute, pounding a low strike into the ground that may’ve deflected before bounding past Jayson Leutwiler to make it 1-0.

Mata buried a gorgeous free kick from a few yards outside the 18 in first half stoppage time to make it 2-0.

It was Mata who squared a ball to Ander Herrera in the 62nd minute, then watched as Herrera lofted a back post ball for Lingard to head home.
